​My name is Luis Hernandez and I am running for the DISD Board of Trustee District 4 seat. Born and raised in Dallas, I went to school in the district. I attended Nathaniel Hawthorne Elementary school. From there I went to Longfellow Academy and then Townview, School of Business. I have two undergraduate degrees from St. Edward’s University. They are in Accounting and in History. I have a Masters degree in Accounting from SMU and have held quite a few jobs while going through school. The most notable can be found on my resume. I am an associate auditor for Rothstein Kass, a public accounting firm.

 

I am running for the Board of Trustees because I have recently been through the DISD education system, and my sisters and cousins are attending schools in DISD. The children of Dallas deserve a better education and the perspective of those most affected is needed. As a product of DISD, I have that perspective.​
